Architechniques was selected by John A. Logan College to oversee the design and construction of the renovation of an existing building, recently purchased by the College, into the permanent home of the JALC Franklin County Extension Center. Up until this project was undertaken, JALC in Franklin county, had existing in rental spaces, with limited functionality, and room for programs and classes. This design featured renovation of over 10,000 square feet of space, and for the first time offered a program in Franklin County, in spaces that mirrored the offerings of the main campus. At the grand opening of this facility, the board of trustees announced that for the first time, a student could complete all classes required for an associate’s degree, without leaving Franklin County.
Architechniques was selected by Southern Illinois Healthcare and John A. Logan College to assist in the design, and to oversee the construction of a brand new space at JALC. This area comprised over 8,000 square feet and provided a training simulator for SIH and now McKendree College nursing students through a cooperative agreement with JALC. The training is done in simulated hospital settings, created in the design, and with high tech simulation mannequins by Laerdal Medical. We incorporated our expertise in both healthcare and higher education into one unique project. Centers like this are only be found elsewhere, in large metropolitan areas like St. Louis and Chicago.

These areas were originally constructed in 1984 and had not seen any modernizations since that time. We brought the spaces, as well as the functions into the 21st Century, incorporating new equipment and providing space for new technologies and procedures.
